Welcome Message
The 16th FAVA Congress 2011 National Organizing Committee is pleased to invite our esteemed colleagues from the 17 member countries comprising the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations, as we in the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA), graciously hosts the congress on February 15-18, 2011 at the Queen City of Smiles Cebu City, Philippines. This great gathering of veterinary practitioners across the Asian continent is expected to convene around 600 delegates and is inviting world known specialist and authorities as keynote speakers, technical resource persons, scientific papers and poster paper presenters during the congress plenary sessions from across the globe to ensure a productive, relevant and a wide array of information sharing success for the forthcoming FAVA Congress.
The 2011 Congress will advocate the theme "Convergence and Cooperation in Addressing Global Animal Health, Free Trade and Environmental Issues” to encourage a stronger and active participation from all member countries in pursuit of the vision and mission of the association as it strives to respond in the growing current concerns for animal health and food security for the global economy going forward. The role of veterinarians everywhere in the world today has become more demanding that necessitates the urgent need to re engineer the profession to a new paradigm shift of wide array of opportunities and answers to all concerning animal health and human public health situations, with the ultimate aim to be an active part for the world animal welfare and global food security.
In behalf of the rest of the working committees for the 16th FAVA 2011 Congress, I wish to take this opportune time, not only to invite each and everyone to participate in the Congress, but to enjoin everyone to actively be informed and involved in all the undertakings the association would like to embark for the best interest of the greater majority of our respective colleagues, wherever we maybe, with committed fervor and serve well our clienteles, the animal stakeholders we have committed and dedicated ourselves as veterinary professionals.
Rest assured, the FAVA Leadership will spearhead wide and ambitious goals doable, and leave no stones unturned, with the involvement we seek and appeal to all in the staging, not only for the profound success of the 16th FAVA 2011 Congress, but more importantly, the attainment of most of our associations vision and mission by setting up a working roadmap for the benefit of all veterinarians across the continent of Asia.
